There must have been a full pound of ground beef in my dish!! Huge portions, delicious and fresh. The salsa was a bit too "tomato saucey", as if canned tomato sauce was added (still OK, though). My waitress was friendly and pleasant. Highly recommend!

Quintessential local Mexican restaurant, offering a comforting blend of vibrant atmosphere, rich family history, and dependable Tex-Mex comfort food. For decades, the phrase "Let's just grab El Toro" has served as a universal solution to the nightly dinner dilemma. Whether referring to the multi-generational Texas landmarks founded by the Ybarra family in 1960, the bustling Midwest hubs started by the Fuentes and MuΓ±oz families, or the hundreds of independent namesake cantinas across the country, El Toro represents more than just a place to eat. It is an American-Mexican cultural institution built on the pillars of legendary hospitality, lightning-fast service, and deeply satisfying comfort food. What truly sets El Toro apart from corporate chain restaurants is its unwavering commitment to community and family origins. Most El Toro locations began as humble, immigrant-owned businesses rooted in a passion for sharing Mexican heritage. This legacy translates directly into the dining room experience, where guests are treated like extended family and greeted with a bright, welcoming energy. Long before a formal order is even placed, a basket of warm, paper-thin tortilla chips and fresh, vibrant salsa magically arrives at the table. The kitchen staff operate as masters of efficiency, sending out plates of sizzling fajitas and smothered enchiladas mere minutes after ordering to defy the standard wait times of traditional sit-down dining. The culinary appeal of El Toro lies in its consistency and unapologetic approach to bold, savory flavors. It does not try to be pretentious; it aims to satisfy. The menu is a familiar, comforting map of culinary hits. There are the sizzling fajitas brought to the table amidst a dramatic plume of smoke, featuring perfectly charred peppers, onions, and tender, marinated meats. For ultimate comfort, the plates feature deeply rich, cheesy enchiladas or crispy chimichangas, generously portioned and served alongside perfectly seasoned rice and velvety refried beans. A meal here is rarely complete without a pitcher of cold margaritas or their signature tableside guacamole, elevating a simple dinner into a festive celebration. Ultimately, the magic of El Toro is that it delivers an experience that cannot be manufactured by corporate strategy. It is a place where high school sports teams celebrate victories, families gather for birthdays, and friends unwind after a long work week. Through its irresistible combination of endless chips, festive ambiance, and heartfelt service, El Toro has earned its place as the undisputed gold standard of the neighborhood restaurant.

Great experience. The chips were warm and the salsa was just right. The guacamole was good, but I prefer it spicier. But it wasn’t scooped out of a premade package. The portions are large and I couldn’t finish my food. They had a vegetarian section as well. Highly recommend this place. There’s also a full bar and TVs.

If you're looking for hot, fresh food, then this is the place. I eat out a few times a week at different restaurants. This is the best one I have come across in a while. They make their own guacamole, and it's fresh daily. I have never had a bad experience here. You won't be disappointed. The staff is great and always checking on you.
